Direct answer

How should I run sales calls for a new offer when I do not know the objections yet?

Treat the first ten to twenty calls as research as well as sales. Use a simple plan with time blocks, spend most of each call on the buyer’s problem, state the offer and price plainly, and write down every objection word for word. After each call, spend ten minutes checking your pacing and updating your answers.

Why calls for a new offer feel harder

When an offer is new, you do not yet know what buyers will push back on, which parts of the offer they care about, or how long the call should take. Most founders fill that uncertainty by talking more. The call runs long, the buyer goes quiet, and the price lands with no context.

The fix is not a better pitch. It is a simple structure, a habit of asking before telling, and a short review after every call so each one is better than the last.

A 30-minute call plan

These time blocks are a starting point, not a rule. Adjust them once you have a few calls behind you.

•

0–3 minutes: why they booked. “What made you want to talk about this now?”

•

3–15 minutes: their situation and goal. Where are they now, what have they tried, what would a good result look like, and what happens if nothing changes?

•

15–22 minutes: the offer. Explain it in a few sentences tied to what they told you. Ask “Does that fit what you had in mind?” before going further.

•

22–27 minutes: price and questions. State the price once, then ask what questions they have.

•

27–30 minutes: the next step. A clear yes, or a dated follow-up. Never “I’ll send something over.”

If you are still describing the offer at minute 20, you started presenting before you understood the problem.

Pacing: three signs you are going too fast or talking too much

1.

You answer a question with a long explanation, and the buyer’s next reply is short. Stop and ask what they think so far.

2.

You present before you can repeat their goal back in their words. Go back to discovery.

3.

You keep talking after saying the price. Say the price, then wait.

A useful rule for early calls: the buyer should talk more than you until you present the offer.

Objections you do not know yet

On a new offer, the first calls are how you find the real objections. Write each one down in the buyer’s exact words, and note what you said and how they reacted.

After ten calls, you will usually see the same three or four come up: price, timing, “I need to think about it,” and doubt that it will work for them. Write one answer for each, starting with a question rather than a rebuttal.

•

Price: “Is it the total, or the timing of paying it?”

•

Timing: “What would need to be true for now to be the right time?”

•

Think about it: “What part do you want to think through?”

•

Doubt: “What would you need to see to believe this will work for you?”

A ten-minute review after every call

Right after the call, answer four questions:

•

Did I understand their goal before I presented?

•

Who talked more before the offer, me or them?

•

What objection came up, in their words, and did my answer work?

•

What is the one thing I will change on the next call?

Then update your notes or script. Changing one thing at a time tells you what actually helped.

How Amotions AI helps on these calls

Upload your call plan, offer notes, and objection answers, even if they are rough. During the call, a private overlay on your Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, or computer-based phone call shows a short prompt when the buyer raises a concern or asks a question, using your own answers. It can also suggest slowing down or checking in when the buyer’s tone shifts.

After the call, the call report shows the transcript, a score against your plan, and Talk / Listen and Pace cards, so you can see whether you talked too much or rushed the offer. Amotions does not currently alert you live when you have talked too long; pacing is something you review after each call.

As objections repeat, add your best answers to the playbook so the live prompts get closer to how you sell. You can also rehearse a new objection in AI roleplay before your next call.

The prospect never sees or hears Amotions, and it does not join the call as a bot.

Frequently asked questions

Q1.

How many sales calls do I need before I know my objections?

A.

Often ten to twenty calls show the same few objections repeating. Keep writing them down after that, because new ones still appear.

Q2.

How long should a sales call for a new offer be?

A.

Around 30 minutes works for many offers. Spend about half of it on the buyer’s situation and goal.

Q3.

Can AI help with call pacing?

A.

Amotions shows your talk-to-listen balance and pace after each call, and live prompts keep you asking questions. It does not currently interrupt you with live talk-time alerts.

Q4.

Do I need a finished script before using Amotions?

A.

No. Start with a rough call plan and the answers you have, then add to it after each call.

Q5.

Is there a free way to try it?

A.

Yes. The free plan includes every Professional feature except custom AI agents, with limited usage. See the pricing page.
