Executive search, recruiting, and staffing

AI for executive recruiters who lose finalists to the counter-offer

Amotions AI is real-time emotional intelligence software for recruiting and staffing teams: private live coaching on candidate and client calls, AI roleplay before them, and scorecards after. Executive recruiters use it to surface motivation, compensation gaps, and counter-offer risk early, the conversation behaviors behind offer acceptance and counter-offer deflection.

Amotions AI for recruiting and staffing

What is Amotions AI for recruiting and staffing?

Amotions AI is emotionally intelligent AI that coaches recruiters during live calls, lets them rehearse hard conversations with AI candidates and clients, and scores every call on emotional intelligence and your own desk process. It guides the recruiter privately and never joins the call as a visible participant.

  • Background live-call coaching: The desktop app for Mac and Windows runs in the background on Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and phone calls on speaker, and shows the recruiter one private next question. The candidate or client never sees it.
  • Customized AI roleplay drills: Recruiters rehearse counter-offer, compensation, and “just exploring” conversations against an AI candidate built from your desk’s real objections, and are scored before the live call.
  • MSCEIT-informed emotional intelligence scoring: Scorecards rate how the recruiter perceived and responded to candidate emotion, using criteria informed by the four MSCEIT branches. It is not the MSCEIT test itself.
  • Deal intelligence after every call: Post-call analysis adds sentiment and deal-risk notes, so desk leads can see which finalists and searches show risk without listening to every call.
  • Offer acceptance rate: The share of extended offers that candidates accept. It depends on how well motivation, compensation, and timing were qualified before the offer.
  • Counter-offer deflection rate: The share of candidates who receive a counter-offer from their current employer and still take the new role. It depends on whether the counter-offer was discussed before resignation.

The conversations we coach

Which recruiting conversations does Amotions coach?

The moments where placements fall through: a finalist hinting at a counter-offer, a compensation stretch, a passive candidate who is “just exploring,” and a hiring manager pushing on the fee. Cues are illustrative; exact wording comes from your desk playbook, not a generic script.

  • Counter-offer hint

“If my company matches the offer, I’d probably stay.”

Amotions cues: Ask what made them start looking in the first place and whether a raise would change it, before the offer is extended.

  • Compensation stretch

“I won’t move for less than a thirty percent jump.”

Amotions cues: Explore total compensation and what else matters (scope, growth, flexibility), and be honest about the role’s range.

  • Passive candidate

“I’m not really looking. I’m just curious what’s out there.”

Amotions cues: Find out what would make a move worth it, without overselling a role they may not want.

  • Client fee objection

“Twenty percent is too much. The other agency does it for less.”

Amotions cues: Ask what the open seat is costing the team before discussing the percentage, and hold your terms before discounting.

How it works

How does real-time emotional intelligence coaching improve offer acceptance and counter-offer deflection?

Offers are usually lost in conversations before the offer: shallow motivation discovery, unspoken compensation gaps, and a counter-offer nobody raised. Amotions ties each step of the recruiter’s workflow to one of those moments, so the behaviors behind offer acceptance and counter-offer deflection are practiced, prompted live, and scored.

  1. Before the call

    1Practice

Custom AI roleplay: recruiters rehearse the counter-offer conversation, the compensation stretch, and the passive candidate against an AI candidate built from your desk’s real objections, then get a score before the live call.

Outcome: Counter-offer deflection rate. Candidates hear the counter-offer conversation from the recruiter before their employer makes one.

  2. During the call

    2Live

Live objection handling: the desktop app listens privately in the background and cues the next question when hesitation, a competing offer, or a counter-offer hint appears. It never joins the call as a visible participant.

Outcome: Offer acceptance rate. Motivation, compensation, and timing gaps are raised on the call, before the offer goes out.

  3. After the call

    3Review

MSCEIT-informed emotional intelligence scoring: every call gets a scorecard on how the recruiter read and responded to candidate emotion, plus sentiment and deal-risk notes for the desk lead.

Outcome: Both metrics. Desk leads see which finalists show risk and which recruiter behaviors come before declined offers.

FAQ

Questions recruiting and staffing teams ask

Straight answers on privacy, playbook training, plans, and how Amotions fits the conversations your team already has.

How does real-time AI coaching improve recruiting and staffing placements?

Real-time AI coaching prompts recruiters, privately and during the call, to qualify the things that decide a placement: why the candidate would move, compensation expectations, timing, and counter-offer risk. Covering those before the offer, then rehearsing them in AI roleplay and reviewing them on scorecards, targets the conversation behaviors behind offer acceptance.

How can recruiters reduce counter-offer losses?

Raise the counter-offer before the candidate resigns. Ask what made them start looking and whether more money would fix it, then plan the resignation conversation together. Amotions cues that question live when a candidate hints at a counter-offer, and recruiters can rehearse it in AI roleplay first.

Does Amotions AI join candidate calls or interviews?

No. Amotions runs as a private desktop app for Mac and Windows or a web overlay on the recruiter’s own screen. It never joins Zoom, Teams, or Meet as a participant, and the candidate or client never sees the prompts.

Will the AI suggest questions we can’t legally ask candidates?

Amotions coaches from your playbook and never speaks to the candidate. You can mark topics like age, family status, or other protected characteristics as off-limits, and prompts steer recruiters back to job-related criteria. Your agency remains responsible for its hiring practices.

Can Amotions coach recruiters on both client and candidate calls?

Yes. You can load separate playbooks for business development and candidate qualification. Each gets its own prompts, roleplay, and scoring, so the same recruiter gets fee and intake coaching on a client call and motivation and counter-offer coaching on a candidate call.

Does Amotions join the call as a bot or notetaker?

No. Amotions runs as a private desktop or web overlay on the rep’s own screen. It never joins Zoom, Teams, or Meet as an attendee, and the person on the other side of the conversation never sees the prompts.

Which plan do I need to train Amotions on our own playbook?

Playbook-trained custom agents are on every paid plan, from Starter up. Start free on Basic to try coaching, roleplay, and scoring built around your own process, then move to Professional when you need more usage.

How long does it take to train Amotions on our playbook?

Teams upload their playbook, approved objection responses, product knowledge, and talk tracks. Calibration typically takes about one week, after which live prompts, roleplay scenarios, and scorecards use your language instead of a generic script library.

Are our calls used to train public AI models?

No. Amotions never uses customer conversations to train third-party foundation models. Workloads run in isolated, encrypted cloud environments separated by customer workspace. Details are on the Trust Center at /security.
